About
The Malaysia Life Cycle Inventory Database (MYLCID) is an output of the Ninth Malaysia Plan (9MP; 2005-2010) mandated by the Government of Malaysia. MYLCID is a comprehensive and localised database designed to support environmental sustainability efforts through Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) studies.
This database provides reliable, country-specific Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) datasets covering materials, energy sources, manufacturing processes and transportation unique to Malaysia. It plays a vital role in supporting ecolabelling programmes, life cycle assessment studies, carbon footprint assessment, eco-design, environmental declaration communication and other environmental management initiatives that require accurate life cycle inventory information.
Developed to bridge the gap between global LCA databases and the Malaysian context, MYLCID enables researchers, industries, policymakers and environmental practitioners to accurately assess the environmental impacts of products and services within Malaysia. By using localised data, MYLCID ensures more relevant and precise results for sustainability assessments, environmental decision-making and green product development.
MYLCID promotes environmental awareness and supports Malaysia’s journey toward sustainable development by facilitating better understanding of resource use, emissions and energy consumption across various sectors.
Whether you are conducting academic research, implementing corporate sustainability initiatives, or developing policies, MYLCID is a valuable resource to help drive informed environmental decisions in Malaysia.
Please note that MYLCID is a restricted database. Free public access is limited to metadata or LCI results descriptions only.
